I jumped up as if I received a strong impact.

Not long ago, I was talking with the shinigami in that sky blue train, but somehow, I was inside my bedroom now.

‘Let’s rewind the time a little bit.’

The shinigami’s voice echoed in my ears. His vivid voice assured me that this was all real.

I lived.

He brought me to life again, just like what he did nine years ago.

I turned to look around.

‘What time is it now?’

I grabbed my phone to check for time.

On the screen was a text from Suzuno.

[Somehow, things turned for the worse.]

I gritted my teeth after seeing those words.

F**k! I really had to start over from here!

I tried to dig through my memory.

The last time I saw this message, I immediately started dashing away. I went on my bike then pedaled at full speed. Along the way, the mysterious black cat guided me to Suzuno’s side.

There was no time to waste. If I were to dawdle around, they would shove her into that car!

Even if I were to resist and stall for time, that truck would still run into her.

[You’re at the Komazawa Park’s parking lot, right? Wait for me, I’ll be right there.]

Without waiting for her next text, I gave her my reply.

I ran down the stairs, toward the front door. Just like before, the door opened before I could open it myself. Kento was home.

“Ah…”

I let out that sound. Kento stared at me.

‘Here…’

I had a gut feeling.

If I wanted to change the future, I had to start from here.

“Kento!”

I grabbed his shoulders before shaking them violently.

“Please, call the police! Two girls are being assaulted in Komazawa Park!’

Kento’s mouth was wide open. He was probably surprised by the fact that I initiated a conversation with him in the first place, and surprised by the content of the conversation itself.

But, there was no time to explain.

“Please! The place is the parking lot near the bus stop! We went there once in the past! Please, you’re the only one I can count on!”

After saying that, I ran out of the house.
