Unfortunately, I wasn’t in the same class as Natsuhara-san. Seriously, if he really wanted me to protect her, why couldn’t the shinigami arrange it so we could be in the same class? Anyway, I still had to think of a way to get close to her.

Every time I went to school, I always tried to pay attention to her.

I found out that she joined the kendo club. Ever since she joined, she had been carrying a shinai around.

I made up my mind.

Let’s join the kendo club.

If we were to spend our time together in the same club, we’d get closer eventually.

But, reality hit me right in the face.

Although our school was a public high school, our kendo club was one of the strongest teams in Tokyo. Most of the team members were experienced and their practice regiments were hard.

Above all, kendo was scary.

Just by seeing the senpai holding a shinai in front of me, it made my body stiffen. What would happen if that shinai were to hit me?

Other than that, holding the shinai itself terrified me. What in the world I was going to do with the sword?

My thoughts started to wander around, my whole body trembled, and the shinai fell from my hand.

In contrast to my pathetic self, my fated girl was dancing in the hall.

With the shinai in her hands, she struck the senpais of the kendo club with a series of consecutive blows. The hall was trembling in excitement because of the new student’s unbelievable strength.

So pretty.

I found myself admiring Natsuhara-san again.

In the rugged-looking hall, her figure stood out like a piece of art.

Even when she held up her weapons high and swung them down, her form was still beautiful and exquisite. I was engulfed by her overwhelming vigor.

This is troubling. What should I do?

There was no doubt that she was my fated girl.

She was so strong and beautiful. I doubted that she ever needed my help.

Meanwhile, I was weak and pathetic. I couldn’t even hold a shinai properly.

Could I be someone who could protect her like the shinigami wanted me to?
