I suspected that the hospital was considering transferring me to an orphanage or something similar, but that didn’t happen.

One day, a strange man and woman came to pick me up.

“Nice to meet you, Yuuma-kun.”

The man was dressed in a suit. He extended his big hand to me.

“You’ve been through so much, but everything is alright now. From now on, you’ll be living in our house.”

“Who are you?”

“We are…your distant relatives.”

The woman next to him nodded. She looked plump and she had a gentle face. She also looked older than my mom.

And so, I was taken in by these two people, the Yamaoka Family, and came to live with them in Setagaya.
