The Happiness That The Shinigami Gave Me - Epilogue 3
Epilogue 3
A small violet tickled my foot.
After I finished my musings, my feet stopped moving. Violets, dandelions, mountain lilies, moss pinks, cosmos, white clovers.
Flowers that bloomed in different seasons spread their petals wide, as if they were looking at me.
The serenity brought by their colorful forms calmed my heart.
‘Right, he should be fine.’
He was scarred, but he still stood up by himself and managed to get everyone around him to recognize and love him.
And above all, he was strong enough to bring his ‘fated girl’ from her depressive state to a better one.
‘I want to be there for him…’
I really envied her brother and his wife for raising him.
‘I should have fought my fate like him…’
I should have defied my own fate and stayed with the woman that I loved until my dying breath.
At least, he will be fine. Unlike me, someone who drove the person that he loved to the depths of the abyss twice.
Nyaa.
Suddenly, there was a meowing voice. I looked around the flower field for the source of the voice.
Nyaa.
I heard it again and this time, it was clearer than before.
Across the river, I could see a cat’s tail, wagging alongside the thick patch of grass. The black tail was long and slender.
“Nyaa.”
A black cat appeared. It stared up at me from the opposite side of the river.
Its dark colored eyes invoked something within me.
A sense of deja vu.
The dark color, the color of deep despair.
“Ah… So, you’re here to pick me up…”
My feet started to move again. Without any hesitation, I stretched my leg to the surface of the river. My soul glided lightly on the water.
It created a series of beautiful ripples.
When I reached the other side of the river, I picked up the black cat that was waiting for me.
‘So warm.’
‘So soft.’
It pressed its nose against my cheek. At that moment, I could hear a voice mixed with the sound of wind. Though, it was probably just my imagination.
‘I missed you so much.’
Yes, I missed you too. I wanted to meet you again…so badly…
…
And so, I started walking again, with the warmth of the black cat in my chest. I left the meandering river and walked toward the bright path ahead of me.

TL: And that’s the end of the series! I found this novel when I was wandering around in narou, finished it in one sitting and decided to pick it up as a side project, hence why I didn’t upload it as often as my other series. In any case, it was a satisfying journey working on this series. I hope you guys enjoy the series as much as I did. And since my schedule opened up for a new series, feel free to contact me if you have a recommendation!
ED Note: This series is finally over! Thank you all so much for reading it. Please look forward to our future projects!

Thank you for the read. Very bittersweet at the end. I hoped that there would have been a bit more lovey dovey now that all the danger was over but satisfying nonetheless.
