After parting with Itsuki and the others, Mirei got into the Tennouji family car parked in front of the academy.

The servant opened the back seat door and Mirei got in the car.

As the car started to drive away, Mirei was looking out at the changing scenery, remembering the conversation she just had.

I let out a small sigh without anyone noticing.

(If the arranged marriage goes through, we won’t be able to spend time after-school together anymore, like we do now…)

Once women have a fiance, they’re hesitant to meet with men other than their fiance more than necessary. 

The chances of spending the same time together in private, let alone at an academy event, will inevitably decrease. At least, they won’t see each other every day as they’ve been doing recently.

“If it’s something good for Tennouji-san, I will support it”. Such words from Itsuki sounded sincere but… also somewhat strangerly.
