- Chapter 8 - Signs of Change in the Childhood Friend
Aisa’s notes were in cute, neat handwriting and very carefully organized.
Her diligent nature is reflected in the fact that she always recaps the content of each class after the lesson. Thanks to this, I’m able to go over the content that I had missed initially.
“Wow… It’s so easy to understand…”
“Fufun. After all, she’s my onee-chan!”
I don’t know why Manami is acting so high and mighty, but I can understand why she would be proud of her sister.
“I see… So Takanishi gets good grades because she reviews to this extent every time?”
The top thirty students are posted for everyone to see, and Aisa is regularly at the top of that list. I can only say that I’m impressed.
That being said, I noticed that Aisa was in a strange mood. I thought I had praised her, but she seemed upset.
“Um… I’m sorry if I offended you?”
Maybe she was annoyed that I was talking about her grades in front of her.
However, Aisa’s anger turned out to be caused by something entirely unexpected.
“Given name.”
“Eh?”
Given name…?
“Why do you only call me by my family name?”
“Ah, ah…”
Considering the distance we had in class, it became a habit to call her by her family name.
“Um… sorry?”
“Not ‘sorry’. Given name.”
I felt the pressure on me.
“Ah…”
I knew what Aisa was trying to say. However, I felt nervous when I was asked to suddenly change the way I called her.
Though, if I don’t do it, the cold atmosphere around Aisa would get even colder, and so I hesitantly said it out loud.
“…Aisa.”
Aisa laughed softly.
“Yes. Good.”
It had been such a long time since I’d called her name so informally, I didn’t know what to say.
It seemed that Aisa felt the same way, as she quickly turned her head away and faced the desk.
The only thing I could see clearly was her ears, which appeared bright red when she brushed her long hair aside.
“Fufun. Kouki-nii, isn’t Onee-chan cute?”
If I say the wrong thing here, it might put her in a bad mood again, so for the time being, I just nod silently so that Aisa doesn’t notice.
“Well, well, now that you’ve had your fill of Onee-chan, it’s my turn!”
She then set aside her textbook and laid her head on my lap.
“Are you tired?”
I was about to pat her on the head as she naturally laid on my lap, but then I remembered that Aisa was here, which made me hurriedly withdraw my hand.
Basically, from observing Aisa, I had learned that when it comes to Manami, I should probably be on edge, as she doesn’t approve of me. Manami seemed a bit unhappy because of this.
However, Aisa’s current attitude was different from her usual scary attitude.
“Let’s take a break.”
Aisa, with a calm expression, said this, got up, and went downstairs.
Huh? That’s not what I was expecting.
Manami happily grinned in my lap as she watched my confusion.
TN: Sup. Double release today, as this chapter was short. I’ve got nothing else to say, so see you guys in the next chapter.
EN: Remember how I said I would be faster in the future?
durende
I feel like this is in between trying to make Aisa a tragic person who keeps getting misunderstood and a typical tsundere. Would have been better to go more in either direction, as the MC just seems stupid now.
Mighthose
The sisters giving chances to each other… This damn MC should explode!!
