Epilogue Part 2

The scorching sun made me let out my complaint loudly.
God, it was so hot!
Sure, this was summer and all, but today was too hot even for summer!

“The smell of the sauce is revolting…”
The smell of the kushikatsu sauce wafting from the boxes reached my nostrils.

She sounded calm, but I could sense astonishment in her voice.

A strange girl suddenly approached me. I could think of four reasons why she did this.
Reason number one, she wanted to make a shady deal with me.
Using her s*x appeal, she wanted me to follow her so that she could sell some dubious products or invite me to a cult.
But, that seemed unlikely. If she really wanted to do that, she wouldn’t be targeting a high school student like me, instead she’d look for adults with deep pockets. I didn’t have money in hand, but a bunch of kushikatsu.

Since that was the case, she should at least know how to get here, so there was no way that she got lost. As for the matter regarding time, the clock tower was nearby, she could just check it on her own.
There was no need for her to call out to me for such a reason.
Therefore this one also wasn’t possible.
Reason number three. This girl loved kushikatsu more than anything in this world.
Common sense told me that this was the most improbable reason of them all.
No matter how much she loved kushikatsu, why would she ask a stranger for some?
It was dumb of me to even think of this as a possibility.

Finally, reason number four. This girl fell for me.

“That sounds reassuring. Alright, see you later.”
“Huh?”

We promised to talk to each other later, but you didn’t even give me your contact information?!
Things weren’t supposed to progress like this!
C’mon, this might work in a drama or something, but this was real life!
“H-Hey, c-can I get your contact information–”
I managed to call out to the girl, but by that time, she had already walked away from me.
Due to the kushikatsu in my hands, I couldn’t even try to chase after her.
Ah… In the end, I failed…
As I slumped my shoulders in disappointment, the girl suddenly turned around and gave me a slight smile.

After saying those words, she turned her back on me again and walked away.
Haah… I didn’t need this cliched development that you often saw in dramas. Just give me a normal and realistic one, please.
In the end, I didn’t manage to get both her name and her contact information. So, I continued to wait for Sun-chan under the scorching sun.
