The sweets issue is a cultural thing. I moved to Japan and was floored when I learned that I was an oddity for going to cafes known for sweets and ladies hangouts lol.

Same, chocolates are sweet. I literally get a chocolate drink, chocolate biscuit, and a chocolate softbread-like biscuit, eating them all at the same time.
