Words can’t describe how annoying this “dense” trope is. I can’t imagine being a 16/17 year old, being in this kids situation, and LEGITIMATELY thinking “oh, she’s just trying to tease me”
I…also can’t imagine the situation not going rated-M at this point. There’s some stories that want the reader to suspend their disbelief for enjoyment, but this one’s getting way too unbelievable. There’s been no real exposition regarding MC’s motivations as to why he’d be like that (and to be fair, he’s rather generic so far as it is), so all I can say is it’s bad. I like the childhood friend, I like the kouhai, and the sister even gets a touch of exposition, but MC? No. And it’s worth dropping.
That said, sunken cost fallacy. I’ve come this far, I may as well continue….
