I Quit the Going-Home Club for a Girl with a Venomous Tongue - Chapter 105
A/N: It’s been exactly one year since the series started! (I’m a slow writer, I know…) Thank you everyone for reading!
I added an illustration of Hiwa Arina to commemorate this! (I’m still learning how to draw…)
Sorry if she looks different from what you expected. Try to give your head a mental trauma, you’ll forget about the illustration easily, I’m sure!
Chapter 105 – The Professional
“Here, aah~”
I sat down with my arms crossed as I straightened my back and put all my strength into my torso. My whole body was tense, the result of a defensive measure to overcome the sh*tty reality.
The reason for this was because Ruka was doing the taboo act of feeding someone of the opposite sex in front of me. It was a blatant violation of the Geneva Convention, the most heinous act one could ever do. This act could inflict severe mental damage to everyone around the offender, not to mention that disease could spread easier because of it.
In fact, I was constantly receiving the mental damage and it accumulated by the seconds. Seriously, why the hell were they doing this in front of me? Why did Ruka come all the way here even though she was from another class? Makoto and I were peacefully having our lunch but, suddenly, she barged into my class unannounced. Well, I gotta applaud her for her bravery but, this just made me think that Makoto had some kind of grudge against me. I mean, get a room or something, stop doing this in front of me! My tomato juice and lunch would go bad!
“This feels embarrassing…”
“B-But, this is what you want, Makoto-kun…”
“I-I was just joking when I said that…”
Look at those rabbits in heat. I should call some French hunters to shoot those two.
I wanted to complain to them, but Makoto would definitely rub this sh*t into my face, so I didn’t.
To calm my anger, I took a bite at my tomato. Let’s go, lycopene overdose! Who gives a sh*t anymore!
“Oi, you too, why are you being shameless in public?”
“S-Sorry, I didn’t know that you’re here…”
What the hell were you on about? You two were doing this right in front of me! Were your eyeballs functioning properly like your balls? Whoops, now I was the one being shameless.
“Sorry!”
“Raise your head, Ruka-kun. Look, I don’t care what kind of immoral acts you two want to indulge in, just don’t do it in front of me.”
“S-Sorry for being shameless!”
“It’s fine, at least you aren’t as shameless as our Kaya over there.”
I heard a pervert shouting something like ‘You know that insulting me will just turn me on, right?’, but I ignored her.
“Well, whatever, it is what it is, let’s not talk about this matter ever again.”
“My bad… Anyway, Sui, the relay is going to start.”
“Are you participating too?”
“Yeah, but I won’t tell you our team’s running order.”
“Hmm. This will be fun.”
I already crossed the badminton club out from the list of the clubs we needed to keep in check. Our team was filled with mutants, no way we would lose to a team that fostered someone who violated the Geneva Convention.
* * *
Berserker Masao.
Intelligent Takazo.
Pro Gamer Eiji.
Heartbreak Rion.
Angel Rose Arina.
“Wait, what did you just call me?”
“Angel Rose Arina.”
“Arina, just give up. You know more than anyone that words are wasted on him.”
Said Rion to Arina. Angel Rose was a perfect moniker for her though.
Before the brass band’s performance was over, we changed into our club’s uniform. Or rather, we just used our uniforms because our club had no uniforms. They told us to do this and we couldn’t do anything about it.
Arina and Rion were wearing their gym shorts underneath their skirts, so there wouldn’t be any pantyshots from them.
To make us stood out from the rest of the students, we rolled our sleeves up. We would look cooler with our sleeves up, right?
Though, in the end, we stood out among the other participants anyway since we were the only one wearing the school uniforms. Every other club had their own club uniforms except for us. Those guys would occasionally take a confused glance at us, probably wondering why we weren’t wearing our club’s uniform.
“Ugh, it’s embarrassing…”
Said Arina.
“Don’t be like that, be more confident. We have nothing to be embarrassed about.”
“I know, but wearing this sash is just pushing it!”
Arina protested as she blushed. She was wearing a sash with ‘Hiwa Arina, the representative of the beautiful girls’ written on it.
“Why am I the only one wearing it?! And beautiful girl? I-I mean I’m happy that you think of me that way, but…”
“The sash is my idea, but the words were written by Rion.”
“RION!!”
“My bad~ Teehee~”
Arina grabbed Rion by her shoulders and started shaking her.
By the way, everyone except Arina decided on a unique accessory to wear to show our individualities. For the record, I wore a tomato hat. Well, actually, it was just a red knit hat with a leaf on it.
After a while, the brass band’s performance was over and applause echoed through the ground. The battle was almost upon us.
“First of all, I want to thank everyone for your support.”
I turned to face them.
“Thanks for sticking around with me, even though you all know that I’m a weirdo. Eiji, without you, none of us would have known how to run properly, thank you for coaching us. Takazo, thank you for always putting out interesting ideas to help our growth. Masao, I still can’t understand you as a person, but your presence gave us the courage we needed to fight, thank you. Rion, your charm is mostly annoying, but it’ll be a great weapon to use in our fight, so, go wild.”
Then, I looked at Arina.
“Arina. Honestly, I’m not worried about your performance. You’re an amazing girl, you’ll definitely bring us to victory. I believe in you.”
“I-Is that so? T-Thank you…”
‘It’s getting hot in here~’, My words seemed to turn Rion’s teasing mode on.
“We’ll only get one shot. Whether we’ll laugh or cry at the end of this will be decided by this one fight. That’s why, let’s do our best.”
Everyone nodded their heads.
Thus, we would take the stage. We had been fighting in places where the sun never shone and it was time for us to come out from the shadows.
We were labeled and persecuted as losers, but we still held on to our ideals and came home no matter how bad it got. No matter how tempting it was to stay at school after the bell rang, we persisted and came back home. There was even one of us who managed to tear open time and space with only his bike while holding this belief (They fell headfirst into a pond).
“I hope that by the end of this we’ll have no regrets. That’s why, just do your best everyone and keep running forward, no matter what happens.”
[Now for the first event of the afternoon, the interclub relay! All participants please get ready!]
All the participants started walking in unison.
“Alright, eat this, Masao.”
“This is… A mango?!”
I handed him an uncut mango. Apparently this guy was crazy enough for mangoes to the point that he would eat even the skin. That was why I brought this along.
“I want you to be in top condition. Eat it quickly.”
“Thank you very much! Then…”
Masao took a bite before he began to devour the whole thing quickly. In the middle of that, something in him changed.
“UWOOOOOOOGGH!!”
He turned into a berserker. If this was an anime, his hair would turn spiky and the color would change into gold. He looked like a god of war as he outstretched his arms while looking up to the heavens. If only he weren’t wearing an apron, he would look much cooler, but the apron was proof of his love for baking.
Arina and Rion took a step back after seeing him, but the male members of our team were in awe of his form.
[We can win.]
After seeing Masao, we were convinced of that.
