Xu MengMeng sat in front of her computer in her vacant, hollow room, mindlessly staring at her friend’s list.
Lin Shoujie’s account was gone from that list.
I was deleted…
Why…?
What happened…?
Xu MengMeng began scratching her head in frenzy, messing up her originally-smooth, long hair.
No matter which way she thought about it, she didn’t think that she had done anything wrong… everything’s been the same as always, hasn’t it…?
Nothing had happened…
We didn’t have a fight…
But considering the situation now, it was scarier than when they would have a fight. It made her depressed.
The surrounding air seemed to have frozen. An unspeakable pressure filled the room. Xu MengMeng was suffocating.
“Ah!!!”
She shouted, trying to vent her frustration. However, she couldn’t stand it anymore.
When her voice stopped, she didn’t feel relieved at all. Instead, she found the things fluctuating in size, her vision blurry.
The weird feelings caused Xu MengMeng unrest. She quickly stood up and jumped onto her bed, being surrounded by dolls. And only then did she feel her nerves calm down, just a bit.
There was a familiar scent… of Lin Shoujie. He had gifted her with all these dolls.
Her head relaxed, she laid on the bed, and mindlessly stared at the ceiling.
After some time, her eyes became foggy. Xu MengMeng slowly turned around, hugged the doll next to her, and quietly cried.
“ShouJie…”
Her lonely voice echoed in her room. However, as expected, there was no response.
“Hao Bro save me, I don’t have Flash!”
“Welp, I’m running first!”
“God dammit!”
Staring at the death recap screen, Lin ShouJie was slowly becoming more tilted.
“Didn’t you say you were going to carry me?”
“It’s no problem! As long as I maintain my CS, I can carry! Don’t even worry about it! I’ll start a comeback by acing them, hahaha…”
“The problem with that is that I won’t be having any fun, will I?”
“Hah… supports are all like this, it’s your fault that you chose not to play Yuumi and chose Blitzcrank instead. Next round, I’ll play support and you play ADC.”
“…I don’t know how to play ADC.”
“It’s going to be fine, just pick Lucian! He’s super easy to play—just remember his combo: E-Auto-Auto-Q-Auto-Auto-W-Auto-Auto-Farm-Farm-Farm.”
“Dude…”
The gaming continued, and without them knowing it, it was already midnight.
The air conditioning in the booth was turned on again. Lin ShouJie didn’t feel as cold, so instead, he started stretching his body, relaxed.
“Hao Bro, this is enough, right? It’s already 12, so we should stop.”
In fact, this was his first time staying up until 12.
In the past, Xu MengMeng always slept around 10 and asked him to sleep at the same time. Very restrictive.
“No way?! You’re already done? Bro, the night life has just begun.”
Liang Hao turned around, clearly surprised.
Lin ShouJie gave a bitter smile.
“I’m used to it, I can’t help it, I can’t stay up any longer. Plus, we drank. If we weren’t playing games, I’d be long asleep by now.”
“…Okay.”
A hint of sympathy flashed through Liang Hao’s eyes.
“What are you gonna do? Leave? To where?”
“First, I’ll just find some random hotel to stay in for a day. I’ll also have to buy some daily commodities.”
Lin ShouJie looked out the window, although it was midnight, lights were still on in this industrialized city.
Even though I have lived here, in this city, for an entire twenty years… I have never seen a scenery like this… It’s pretty sad, isn’t it?
…Lin ShouJie couldn’t help but laugh at himself.
However, that was now all in the past.
Keeping that in mind, the corners of his mouth curled up into a grin.
“There’s no need bro, just stay here. I’ve got a room here for myself upstairs. It’s pretty big and everything I need is there.”
“Then where are you sleeping tonight?”
“I’ll just sleep at home. It’s not that far.” Liang Hao replied instantly, then he gave Lin ShouJie a look and said, “Of course, if you want to sleep with me upstairs, I don’t mind.”
“When are you taking a trip to Thailand?” Lin ShouJie followed up.
Liang Hao laughed and said “Screw off, if one of us is going then it’s going to be you. I still got a bunch of girls waiting for my fire rod to comfort them.”
[TLN: Fire rod is a reference to the rod hero, MC of Redo of Healer in EP2.]
“Alright, dude, whatever you say,” Lin ShouJie nonchalantly answered, then gave a small smile. “Thanks.”
“No need to thank me, just live in that room upstairs.” Liang Hao shrugged, then got up and walked out.
“Come on, I’ll go with you and get some commodities. I don’t think you’re too familiar with this area of the city.”
“Yeah, I’ll get familiar soon.”
Lin ShouJie got up and left with Liang Hao.
As the owner of the internet cafe, many regulars greeted Liang Hao at the second floor lobby.
Of course, the managers that they passed did as well.
But more than Liang Hao, a girl manager was looking at Lin ShouJie.
She thought he looked like the perfect one, someone who would only appear in her wet dreams.
As Liang Hao thought of something, he stopped one of the managers and asked, “By the way, is Hong Sis here tonight?”
“She’s here, downstairs.”
“Okay.”
Liang Hao nodded, then let them go on their things.
The name was familiar to Lin ShouJie.
He remembered it was Liang Hao’s distant relative of some sort, and the co-owner of the place.
More precisely, she was running the place instead of Liang Hao.
“You want to meet Hong Sis?” Liang Hao turned and asked Lin ShouJie.
“Sure.” Lin ShouJie accepted.
The two walked downstairs, and from afar Lin ShouJie saw a tall, fashionable woman with curly hair standing at the counter.
Her look was particularly adult and robust, her movements were dignified, and especially that slightly red hair that made her look more outgoing..
“Did you see her, over there, her name is Su MuHong, we all call her Hong Sis. She’s turning… probably 23 this year? Her personality is super great, very reliable.” Liang Hao introduced as he walked with Lin ShouJie.
Lin ShouJie nodded slightly, feeling a weird emotion sunk in the bottom of his heart.
Perhaps it was excitement, since if Xu MengMeng saw this scene where he was meeting other females, it would be really amusing…
“Hong Sis.” Liang Hao brought Lin ShouJie to the front desk. “I’ve got to introduce you to someone.”
With that, he pointed at Lin ShouJie, “This is my best friend Lin ShouJie, he will be living here for some time. Please take care of him while I’m not here.”
