Chapter 9-First Date part 1 <The First Battle between the Black Dragon Knight and the Witch of Hades Phase 1>.

I was fidgeting while checking my LINE for a new message from time to time. Ah, the tension was getting into my nerves. After being taught a lot by Okita, I was prepared for the date. Apparently, wearing bandages and silver chains on dates was no good. Seriously, was it strange to be fashionable? In the end, I was forced to take off most of my ornaments. It’s a lie, right? I mean, even in games, not wearing them is such a waste.

The meeting place was at the clock tower in front of the station. There were quite a few people there. It was crowded with people waiting for someone just like me.

“So why are you here 30 minutes earlier than the meeting time like it’s natural!?”

A beautiful saint stood there. She was wearing a white dress decorated with lace on the chest part, a skirt, cute shoes, a necklace and rings that were not too fancy, and her long black hair seemed to be glossier than usual. Unlike her previous dark attire, her overall white appearance was divine and she looked like a real saint. No, I have never seen a saint before in my entire life.

“Don’t worry, I just got here. But you look as divine as a saint, Tanaka-san.”

“Don’t lie, you already drank more than half of the Orangina in your hand, and you can call me Sachiko, since we’re supposed to be a couple.”

Beni said a bit exasperatedly. Is this girl a detective? She has Holmes-like insight. Well, I can’t help it because I was looking forward to it! But I wouldn’t let myself be the only one who got beaten up.

“So Sachiko, why are you also here 30 minutes before the meeting time? Did you want to see me so badly?”

“Don’t get me wrong, the hairdresser just finished earlier than I expected. Also, as a witch, calling me a saint is an insult, so please never say it again.”

“Hairdresser… but you didn’t cut your hair… maybe you went to get a hair treatment just for our… date today? Aren’t you too cute?”

“Huh, enough with the messing around! Let’s go quickly. You’re going to show me some interesting places, aren’t you?”

I chased after Beni, whose face had turned beet red as she quickly walked away. Did I do something wrong? Or was it something I shouldn’t have said?

We headed to the aquarium. It’s a government-run aquarium, but there was a variety of fish, and it was a favorite date spot among the locals. I had never imagined that I would be going to this place with a girl.

“It’s been a while since I last went to an aquarium… We won’t run into someone from our school here, so let’s go this way. I wonder if there’s any children that could be my familiar. I’d like to see a Kraken or Leviathan.”

“Ah, if we ever run into someone from our school, I’ll say Jekyll and Hyde as a sign, so be ready.”

“Leave it to me, I’ll show you my acting skills as the Witch of Hades who constantly escaped the witch hunts.”

After scanning the surroundings and confirming that there were no students from our school, Beni switched back to her original way of speaking and smiled proudly. No, you already made a mistake on your first day of transfer. She looks like a solid person, but she’s quite a clumsy one, isn’t she?

“If you have something to say, say it.”

“No, it’s nothing…”

Is this girl enlightened? I looked away from Beni, who was staring at me with half-open eyes.

I stopped Beni from buying a ticket at the entrance and took out the pair of tickets I had bought beforehand and handed them to the receptionist. Beni has a stern look, perhaps, she was surprised at my dexterousness.

“Thanks and I’m sorry, I’ll pay for the half later.”

“No, that’s fine, just buy me a drink inside later.”

If this were a gal game, this behavior would likely raise your favorability, don’t you think so too? I did everything according to what Okita said… But Beni has a delicate expression while muttering to herselt “Isn’t he too used to it?”  Ehh, Isn’t this reaction less favorable, Okita-san…

“Well, let’s go check this out first.”

“Yeah, we have to be prepared for emergencies.”

We nodded at each other and started to study the aquarium map.

“If the tank breaks, we’d better go this way to escape.”

“Oh, sharks and giant fish are dangerous, so we should walk fast and not waste any time. If the tank breaks, we might get crushed.”

“Are you sure this is the best escape route?”

“Well, I’ve brought two days worth of emergency rations in case we get trapped in the aquarium.”

“The Japanese police are very skilled, so I’m sure they can help us out within two days.”

After the strategy meeting, we headed towards the aquarium. I heard a parent and child saying, “Mom, what are they talking about?” “Ma-kun, you can’t be like that, let’s get away from them.” Is there anything wrong with that? Isn’t it natural to check your safety first… Anyway, this is how our first date started.
